Fire Resistance
AFB is non-combustible, can withstand temperatures up to 2,150 oF and will not develop toxic smoke or promote flame spread, even when directly exposed to fire. AFB has the lowest possible flame spread / smoke development index of 0 / 0 when tested in accordance with ASTM E84.
Sound Absorption
AFB is specifically designed to reduce sound transmission and provides exceptional acoustic comfort when installed in a wall assembly. Insulation is a key first step in a complete acoustic solution that may also include components such as additional gypsum boards and resilient channels.
